Eric R. Wahrsager Named 2010 Businessman of the Year by the Fire Marshal Benevolent Association of Nassau County
United States Merchants Protective Co. president and CEO recognized for his achievements in the fire protection industry and his continued commitment to life safety

Bellmore, New York – United States Merchants Protective Co. is excited to announce that Eric Wahrsager, president and CEO, has been named 2010 Businessman of the Year by the Fire Marshal Benevolent Association of Nassau County.

Wahrsager was awarded the prestigious title at the annual Nassau County Fire Marshals Benevolent dinner held at the historic Oheka Castle – a 109,000 square-foot mansion on the Gold Coast of Long Island that was once the home of financier Otto Kahn and is currently the second largest private home in the United States.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal Benevolent Association praised Wahrsager for his extensive track record of accomplishments in the New York fire protection industry. In receiving the award, Wahrsager was also recognized for his continued commitment to bringing higher levels of safety to the region's businesses, homes and government facilities.

"I am honored and humbled to be awarded with this great accolade, and I'm thankful to the Fire Marshal Benevolent Association of Nassau County for making it possible," said Wahrsager. "The security and fire protection industry is constantly evolving and encompasses so many different organizations. But together our mission is the same: to make New York a safer place to live, work and do business."

Wahrsager also received Citations from the New York State Assembly, Nassau county legislature and the Nassau County Executive recognizing his accomplishments and the Citations were presented in person by New York State Assemblymen Harvey Weisenberg and Nassau County Legislator David W. Denenberg.

Wahrsager has over a decade of experience in the fire protection industry. He helped spearhead the launch of United States Merchants Protective Co., Inc., which provides security and fire alarm systems to residential and commercial properties across the U.S. Wahrsager is also an owner of Nationwide Central Station Monitoring Corp. one of the nation’s largest wholesale security monitoring company’s, and former chief marketing officer at Smith & Wesson Security Services.
